You have been accepted! Now what? It's time to begin planning for your semester in Los Angeles. It may be a big change, so we are here to help guide you.
You will need to write a “To Do” list. Be sure to download the checklist/timeline for your semester of participation (available in the Applying section of this site), so that you don’t miss important registration and payment deadlines that could affect your enrollment.
Be sure to consult your academic advisor about your participation in the program and inquire about policies, requirements and deadlines that could impact your graduation date. If you are nearing graduation, this is particularly important.
If applicable, you should also contact a financial aid advisor as early as possible, to learn about financial aid options and requirements, and to ensure timely disbursement of scholarship and loan awards. Applying for the program up to one year in advance also provides time to research and apply for scholarships that are awarded on a yearly cycle. Consult your university resources, and don’t forget to review library resources-- many of them are available online.

And, it is never too early to begin your internship research, although it is advisable to wait to contact potential employers approximately one semester before participation. You should be able to log in to the UTLA Center internship database once your acceptance has been confirmed (upon payment of your program fee deposit).
Shortly before your semester of participation, you will be invited to a Semester in Los Angeles orientation/meet and greet event on campus at The University of Texas at Austin. Look for more details from the program coordinator via email as the time draws nearer.
